Female Scholars Luncheon
Prof Xiaomeng Guo(郭晓朦)
Business School, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
Bio: Dr. Xiaomeng Guo is an Associate Professor in the Department of Logistics and Maritime Studies, Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Dr. Guo received her bachelor's degree in mathematics and physics from Tsinghua University, and her Ph.D. degree in operations management from Washington University in St. Louis.
Her research interests include operations-marketing interface, socially responsible operations, and supply chain management. Her research work has been published in flagship journals, including Management Science, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Journal of Marketing Research, and Production and Operations Management, etc.
Dr. Guo has obtained six competitive research grants from Hong Kong Research Grants Council as a primary investigator. She has received renowned academic awards, including the Best Conference Paper Award from ISCOM, the Outstanding Paper Award from BOM Sector of the Operations Research Society of China, PolyU Young Scholar Research Innovation Award, etc.
Prof Yangzi Jiang(江洋子)
School of Management and Economics, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen)
Bio: Dr.Yangzi Jiang is currently an assistant professor in The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen). She received her bachelor’s in Mathematics and another degree in Financial Analysis and Risk Management from University of Waterloo and a bachelor's in Business Management from Wilfrid Laurier University. She completed a master’s program in the Department of Management Science at University of Waterloo. She graduated from the Operations Department in Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University as a Ph.D.
Her research interests lie in the intersection between business analytics and operations management. Her current research focuses on healthcare and online retail operations. She has published in top journals such as MSOM, EJOR and GDN.
Dr. Jiang was a finalist for INFORMS Health Application Society Student Paper Competition in 2021. She is currently holding Research Fund for International Scientists from National Natural Science Foundation of China as the principal investigator.
Prof Shan Wang(王杉)
School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University
Bio: Dr. Shan Wang is currently an Associate Professor at the School of Business, Sun Yat-sen University. She earned her bachelor's degree in Information Management and Information Systems from the Business School of Nankai University, and her doctoral degree in Management Science and Engineering from the Antai College of Economics and Management, Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
Her research focuses on the design and control of service systems with complex behavioral dynamics and constraints, with a specific emphasis on the healthcare sector as a key application field. The core objective of her research is to explore solutions for delivering medical services in a timely, effective, and efficient manner. Her work has been published in top journals such as Management Science and M&SOM.
She has been funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China for Excellent Young Scholars and has received numerous academic awards, including the Second Prize of the Outstanding Achievements Award (Humanities and Social Sciences) from the Ministry of Education of China and the POMS CHOM Best Paper Award.
Prof Haiyan Xu(徐海燕)
College of Economics and Management, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics
Bio: Dr. Haiyan Xu is a Professor in the College of Economics and Management, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, China. She received her BSc degree from Nanjing University, China, and her PhD degree from the University of Waterloo,Canada. Her current research interests in Game Theory, Conflict Analysis, and Decision Analysis. She is an Expert of Special government allowances of the State Council in China and a Social Science Expert for Foreign Exchanges in Jiangsu Province.
Dr. Xu serves as an Editorial Board Member of the European Journal of Operational Research (EJOR), Associate Editor of Group Decision and Negotiation (GDN), Executive Council Member of the Intelligent Decision and Game Theory of the Branch in Chinese Society of Optimization, Overall Planning and Economical Mathematics, and a Board Member of the International Council on Group Decision and Negotiation. In the past 15 years, she has hosted four General Projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC).
Her awards include the Second Prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award, the Second Prize of the Ministry of Education Higher Education Scientific Research Achievement Award, the First Prize of the Fourth National Higher Education Teachers’ Teaching Innovation Competition, the First Prize of the National Defense Science and Technology Award, and the First Prize of the Jiangsu Provincial Philosophy and Social Science Excellence Award.
